Australia's meal delivery scoreboard

Every meal delivery service. One honest, living score.

Star ratings disagree, go stale, and hide whether a company is getting better or worse. Right now we track every brand's ProductReview.com.au rating and review count, twice weekly, dated and linked. More review platforms and our own meal tests are planned — and no Meal Prep Score is published until they're in.

The Meal Prep Score

A rating that moves with the evidence, not the marketing.

Aggregate every platform

Twice-weekly snapshots of each brand's rating and review count from ProductReview.com.au — dated, attributed and linked to the source. Google and Trustpilot are planned next.

Weight by recency

Recent reviews count for more. A brand coasting on its 2022 reputation drifts down; one that fixed its delivery problems visibly recovers. We show the trend, not just the number.

Order the meals ourselves (planned)

Our planned tests: kitchen scale out, labels checked against claims, delivery condition photographed. Once testing starts, the test rubric will feed a fixed share of every score.

Publish the working

Every score page shows its sources, snapshot dates and a changelog of what moved. The formula lives on the methodology page — published before any score.

Verdict: every brand page opens like this — the weighted score, its direction of travel, what reviewers keep praising and keep complaining about, and what we found when we ordered it ourselves. Dated, sourced, and rewritten whenever the data moves.

Illustration of the format only — no scores are published until a brand clears our data threshold. No placeholder ratings, ever.

Coverage

Every corner of the market, not just the big four.

Ready-made, meal kits, weight-loss programs and diet-specific kitchens — the national names and the state-based specialists they compete with.

First-hand testing · planned

We'll order what we score. Receipts included.

Aggregated stars can't tell you if the chicken arrives warm or the "35g protein" survives a kitchen scale. So once our testing programme starts, a fixed share of every score will come from our own orders:

  • Weights checked against the label, meal by meal
  • Delivery condition and temperature on arrival
  • Days of use-by life left when the box lands
  • Price per meal and per gram of protein, verified on a stated date
  • Photos of what actually turned up — published with the review

EVERY TEST WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHED · PUBLISHED WITH THE SCORE

No score without receipts

Brands stay "Tracking" until the data clears the bar.

A score publishes only once we hold 200+ aggregated reviews, two consecutive snapshots and a completed first-hand test. Until then, no number — because a placeholder rating is just a guess wearing a costume.

Fair questions

Asked and answered.

Why should I trust a site with affiliate links?

Because everything that could bias us is disclosed, and the one thing that can't be bought is the score. Commission relationships appear nowhere in the scoring formula, and the formula is public. Full details on How we make money and in our FAQ.

Where do the ratings come from?

Today, from ProductReview.com.au: each brand's rating and review count, shown with source and capture date and updated twice weekly. Google, Trustpilot and YouTube, plus our own hands-on meal tests, are planned; they'll be combined under the published recency-weighted formula before any Meal Prep Score is published.

When do the first scores land?

As each brand clears the data threshold: 200+ aggregated reviews, two consecutive snapshots, one completed first-hand test. The roster and each brand's status live on Brands we track.
